Church bulletin<\/p>\n

There are so many needs to bring to God in prayer \u2013 personal needs; church needs; the needs of family and friends. Sometimes it is hard to know where to begin. There are half a dozen perennials which we ought to be continually bringing to the throne of grace. The following prayer points are always relevant and actually encompass many of the individual and personal needs we and others may have. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Pray that God would uphold the government<\/span><\/span>: <\/span>1 Tim 2:1-2, <\/span>\u201c<\/span><\/i>Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions,\u00a0<\/span>and<\/span> giving of thanks be made for all men, <\/span>2<\/span><\/sup>for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.\u201d<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Pray that God would bless His church<\/span><\/span>: <\/span>Psalm 122:6-7, <\/span>\u201c<\/span><\/i>Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: \u201cMay they prosper who love you. <\/span>7 <\/span><\/sup>Peace be within your walls, prosperity within your palaces.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Pray that God would build His kingdom<\/span><\/span>: <\/span>Col 4:2-4, <\/span>\u201c<\/span><\/i>Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving; <\/span>3<\/span><\/sup>meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains, <\/span>4<\/span><\/sup>that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Pray that God would sanctify His people<\/span><\/span>: <\/span>Col 1:9-12, <\/span>\u201c<\/span><\/i>For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; <\/span>10<\/span><\/sup>that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing\u00a0<\/span>Him,<\/span> being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; <\/span>11<\/span><\/sup>strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; <\/span>12<\/span><\/sup>giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Pray that God would provide our necessities<\/span><\/span>: <\/span>Matt 6:11, <\/span>\u201c<\/span><\/i>Give us this day our daily bread.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Pray that God would forgive our sins<\/span><\/span>: <\/span>Matt 6:12, <\/span>\u201cA<\/span><\/i>nd forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Much of our prayer life will consist in praying for needs. It may very well help us to stay on course and pray productively and broadly if we approach it with a handful of perennial points in mind<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
